‘Triple Vision’ 07.10.25 feat. Yi Lum
We’re joined this month by Steph Tran aka Yi Lum, quickly becoming a staple of Naarm’s underground, whose carefully crafted sets capture emotion, rhythm and texture, creating hypnotic journeys for the experiencer.
Unbound by genre, Yi Lum drifts through dreamy, moody and atmospheric sound scapes, where bass weight meets the subliminal and movement meets feeling.
Show airs 6PM AEDT 07.10 on area3000.radio

Q&A with Yi Lum
Q1. Was there a particular mood or feeling that informed the selections for this mix & are there any artists or labels you've included that you're particularly digging at the moment?
I was excited to explore some slower, moodier, somatic sounds. I played tracks that I don't usually play out that were kicking about in my library. It ended up getting pretty dark, so I guess there was something that needed to get out.
Q2. Where is one of your favourite dance floors in the world to play or enjoy music and what has made that experience so special?
Nothing beats playing and experiencing music outdoors- at a festival or outdoor party. You lose track of time and more often than not, the crowd is locked in. They've attended the festival/party intentionally. There's no constant movement to the bar or to the smokers. I am always looking for that moment where the dancefloor is in a flow state. Everyone is lost in the music and moving together. Tears, what the fuck moments, laughter, disbelief. Notable recent moments were at Strawberry Fields when Circle of Live was playing and Nose Drip at Waking Life.
Q3. What is something you've found creatively inspiring recently?
I'm constantly inspired by the people around me. We have such a rich scene locally and my friends have the coolest minds.
